Knights of Columbus Award Given
The Knights of Columbus Family of the Month program promotes and supports the development of strong and vibrant families who outwardly exhibit ties of love and faith, exemplifying Catholic family values, and make meaningful contributions to their parish and larger community.
This month the Knights of Columbus Council 1350 and the entire St. Margaret Mary parish community honor the Heather and John Moura family who have been parishioners of St. Margaret Mary Church for 19 years.
Heather and John have two daughters, Morgan and Brooke. They both received their sacraments here at St. Margaret Mary Church. Morgan was married this past July. Brooke is currently in the University of Bridgeport nursing program. She helps at Split Rock Senior Living by aiding the residents in getting to church. She also assists Deacon Tom with Communion.
Heather has been the DRE at our parish for 8 years. In this role she runs the Religious Education program, the "Keep Christ in Christmas" poster contest, the Easter Egg Hunt, and Halloween Bingo. Additionally, Heather helped with the first "Walking with Purpose" Bible study and currently helps with flowers for Christmas and Easter. She also assists with the Knights of Columbus mini-golf tournament. Heather is a dedicated Eucharistic Minister.
Heather's husband, John, supports his family in all their activities and endeavors.
The Moura family will receive the Family of the Month certificate and the roaming holy chalice for the month of April.
